When should I start to use tampons and how do you ask your Mum for them?-Just tell her, she'll completely understand. Say something like, "I feel ready to try tampons, so can we get some today?" 

As to when you should start using them? Whenever you want to. Just remember never to insert a tampon when you HAVEN'T got your period, even if it's just to test them out. This is really painful and dangerous. Only insert them when you're bleeding. They'll glide in way easier, and it won't hurt. And remember to change them every 4-6 hours, or more if you have a heavy flow. Alternate between pads and tampons. Use pads at night. Always wash your hands with soap before inserting one. And remember, you shouldn't be able to actually FEEL the tampon once it's inside you. If anything feels uncomfortable, you might not have inserted it right, so gently pull it out and insert a new one. Good luck, hun! :D
